GRAND FORKS, N.D. — I’ve been tapped to headline this month’s Drone Biz event and regale attendees with my story of going from writing the drone news to convincing people to put my employer in it.
If you’re new to the blog, I covered unmanned aircraft systems for the Grand Forks Herald for nearly three years before leaving to join the industry as a director of marketing and media relations for SkySkopes, a drone operations company located in Grand Forks.
When most people think of drone jobs, it’s usually pilots and data analysts. But you need more than those folks to run a successful company. At Drone Biz, I’ll be sharing my story of how I found my place in the industry using skills I already had.
This month’s luncheon will take place from noon to 1 p.m. on March 9 at the Grand Forks Region Economic Development Corp. office, 120 N. Fourth St. in Grand Forks. You can RSVP here by March 8.
Drone Biz is held from noon to 1 p.m. every second Thursday of the month at rotating locations.
